Program Structure : The program is interdisciplinary in nature covering areas such as instrumentation, control, mechanical, computers and chemical engineering. The core course includes automatic, economic, efficient and reliable control systems with a wide range of electives in electric drives, robotics, power system, micro-controllers etc.
The curriculum of the program is designed in such a way to make the students excel in the areas of virtual instrumentation, biomedical instrumentation, embedded systems, PLC and DCS, SCADA, smart sensors and sensor networks. Students are required to take up the project, seminar and dissertation for second year in order to implement the theoretical knowledge that they have gained in the first year of the program.
Scope and Career Prospects: After pursuing the course at Sharda Group of Institutions, graduates become eligible for various job opportunities in the production firms in both government and private sectors. They can seek employment in several fields such as railways, armed forces, and other government departments. Entry level aspirants can get a starting salary of minimum Rs. 2.2 lakh/p.a. to Rs. 6 lakh/p.a. excluding other allowances. With more experience or as an established independent consultant one could earn more. Senior engineers can earn anywhere in between Rs. 6 lakh/p.a. and Rs. 12 lakh/p.a.
