Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering is the basic and most sought after professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally available environment. It includes design, construction and maintenance of essential infrastructural facilities such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. Civil Engineering practices take place at all levels i.e., in the public sector from municipal to national government and in the private sector from individual homeowners to international companies.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Classrooms

Classes of Civil Engineering Department runs on the 2nd floor. It has well equipped classrooms with audio systems, projectors, and can comfortably seat upto 75 students. The classrooms have space enough to conduct some in-class group activities to enhance student interaction and confidence levels

CAD LAB

CAD Lab of this department was established for computer-aided courses. This lab is to primarily facilitate students to evolve concepts and convert them into a complete product as per requirement. The lab covers various latest versions of software like AutoCAD (for engineering drawings) STAAD-Pro (Structural Analysis and Design), Water Gems & Sewer Gems (for designing water supply and sewerage systems), Arc GIS & Q-GIS (for digital mapping). It also covers working on Project Planning and Management software like Primavera & MS Project.

STAAD Pro

STAAD.Pro is one of the most widely used structural analysis and design software products worldwide. In this course students learns about the analysis and design of all types of structural projects from plants, buildings, and bridges to towers, tunnels, metro stations, water/wastewater treatment plants and more. It grows their professional skills as per the Industry requirement to achieve his dream job.

When I reflect on my four years in HCST, I conclude that the experience not only made me a better engineer, but also prepared me in unpredictable ways for my career.
