Overview

Welcome to the Department of Information Technology at Hindustan College of Science & Technology Mathura. Established in 1999, our department has earned accreditation from the esteemed National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2006.

Situated in a sprawling environment, our department boasts a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members. With a strong focus on addressing critical challenges faced by the industry, society, and academia, we are committed to nurturing our students’ growth, development, and achievement of their professional goals.

Our faculty members collaborate with remarkable team spirit in various domains, including Programming, Software Development and Testing, Information and Cybersecurity, Image Processing, Cryptography and Network Security, Internet of Things, and Machine Learning. These collaborations have resulted in significant research publications and valuable consultancy services.

At our department, we strive to create a conducive learning environment where students can enhance their analytical and practical skills and apply them to real-world problems. PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POS)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

    1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
    2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
    3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
    4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
    5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
    6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
    7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
    8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
    9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
    10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

The Department of Information Technology was established in 1999 with a clear vision of delivering excellence in the realm of Information Technology education and cultivating skilled professionals capable of providing innovative solutions on a global scale.

At the helm of this department, we proudly oversee QUBIT, a distinguished student association dedicated to the holistic growth and development of aspiring IT engineers. Founded on April 23, 2008, QUBIT operates as a nonprofit and non-political organization, serving as a dynamic platform for students to explore cutting-edge technological advancements and gain invaluable industry exposure. Through a series of meticulously organized workshops, seminars, and engaging events, QUBIT nurtures the minds of future IT pioneers.

QUBIT

QUBIT-The IT student’s association at Hindustan College of Science and Technology is founded with the sole aim in mind – Overall development of thestudents. QUBIT was found on the 23rd April 2008, under the guidance of Mr. Suneet Gupta (Former HOD-IT) and Mr. Shankar Thawkar (HOD-IT). It was inaugurated by Professor Dr. R.C. Maheshwari (Ex-Director-R&D). QUBIT is a non-profit, non-political association that provide a platform to future engineers to learn new technological innovations and also provide industry exposure to the students, by organizing workshops, seminars & other events.

QUBIT has been coordinated by our Esteemed Faculty Members from the beginning of its foundation;

Rules & Regulations

(Amended on: 10-July-2019)

  1. Organization membership shall be limited to persons who are students of the IT Department. Any exceptions must be approved by the Committee Members.
  2. For membership each student has to submit the fully completed registration form with the registration fee Rs. 100/-.
  3. Students shall get benefitsforthe welfare of students with the registration fee. However, no benefit will be given for the events which will be held during the academic session.
  4. The students of the IT Department who shall coordinate/participate in any event organized by the association will get the certificate by which they will get bonus marks in GP.
  5. For Students of other branches who shall participate in any event organized by the association will get a certificate. (Bonus decision is dependent on their respective HODs).
  6. Different student committeesmay be formed for the smooth running of the Association.
  7. If any student is found involved in any type of misconduct, he/she will be terminated immediately from the association and also will not get any benefit in the future.
  8. Reasonable expenditures for travel expenses of association members may be granted by the Budget & Finance Committee if the trips are permissible.
  9. For any other expenditure (like printing charges etc.) students will have to present an original bill against it for reimbursement.
  10.  Faculty Committee members are solely responsible for the creation of any hierarchical student committee for any event, so no interference from the student’s side will be entertained.
